Greetings, my name is Nicole Whitley, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Grief Counselor (GC-C). Through years of higher education, hospice experience, along with personal experience, my passion is to work with individuals, families, couples, and children, struggling through grief and loss. Many associate the grief process only with the passing of a loved one, however, grief is also experienced with a divorce/separation, loss of a job, a newly diagnosed terminal illness, life transitions, etc.
I use various evidence-based treatment approaches including Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive therapy (MBCT), Solution focused-based therapy (SFBT), to assist the bereaved in processing and moving forward from a once hurtful, gut wrenching and or stagnated moment in life.
During the grieving process, many people do not take the time needed to process and heal from their loss. During our time together, expect to be equipped with insight as to how your grief/loss has impacted you, your relationships, decision-making abilities, etc. You can expect to gain increased knowledge of the grieving process. Lastly, you will gain inner strength, learn practical coping tools, restore hope and peace to begin to live your life again, this time in a healthy way. Grief is a journey, let’s partner together.
